Rubber Stamping Class Highlights

Rebecca taught a kids rubber stamping class last week at a local library. Rebecca showed them how to make their own hand stamped gift bag. To top it off, they made a pencil topper. The class was punch intensive as they used the Stampin' Up! scallop circle punch, spiral punch and word window punch, among others.

Looking at the pictures, there seemed to be some very happy faces. You can take a look for yourself by going to Rebecca's rubber stamping and scrapbooking blog.

Stamp Club Members Get Thirsty

Last Friday the members of my wife Rebecca's stamp club created the card below as one of their projects. Rebecca tells us where she got the inspiration for this card, in a post on her web site.

A Week in the Life of a Husband of a Stamper

This has been a fun week. This past Friday, my wife Rebecca Bernzweig had two of her good friends come by, Laura and Gwynne. Laura is a Stampin' Up demonstrator from Milford MA and Gwynne is also a SU demo who brought her swaps she collected at January's Stampin' Up leadership conference held in Palm Springs, CA.

I happened to take the first half of the day off from work and was able to snap this picture of them (L to R Gwynne, Laura and Rebecca):

I am told that after I left they went down to Rebecca's craft room and showed each other new rubber stamping techniques. Rebecca told me about a few of them and something about a paper flower....I quickly zoned out and asked what was for dinner. Rebecca did not seem to appreciate that. Bad Husband.

When I got home last Monday, I asked my wife why I had not heard from her all day. She told me that she had been swamped because Stampin' Up has many specials going on in the month of May. A special on Chipboard and also a cutting combo pack special. Lastly, there is 20% off the Demonstrator Starter Kit along with a Free Hodgepodge Hardware kit for anyone that becomes a new Stampin Up demonstrator. (This week's new mission for me: Find out what a
Hodgepodge Hardware kit is.)

Let's rewind even further to Friday, May 2. Stampin' Up did a very nice thing and let people that had been demonstrators for 10 years or more, sign up for convention earlier than normal. So guess what? Rebecca signed up AND she signed up for me to attend also!! Yes, I have been a supporting Stampin' Up demonstrator for many years. Over the years this has meant that while Rebecca was at convention or doing a workshop or a class, I have taken phone messages or orders from customers, so Rebecca could follow up when she got home. I decided that since she made Stampin' Up her full time career almost three years ago, the least I could do was attend convention and really support her when she needs me to. If she is taking it seriously, then I need to also.

Other Stampin' Up supporting demonstrator duties I have helped with over the years:

1) Using my nose as a glitter magnet. First thing in the morning, coworkers sometimes tell me I have glitter on my nose even though I've taken a shower just two hours earlier.

2) One year when Rebecca was away at the Stampin' Up regional seminar in Providence RI, I taped her favorite TV show.
I really strained myself that year.

3) Making sure that pizza arrives before she gets back from home workshops so we can both eat.

There is more but I will leave that for another time.

Will I do a card swap at convention? What does this next week hold for Husband of a Stamper? Will I get dinner on stamp club night this week? Stay tuned for the answers.
